What’s new?

Thanks for stopping by to see what’s new with Gleaming Edge.

While studying knives I come across some really great articles. I wanted to share this one with you. Knife skills and safety, from a Food Network staffer. This is a short read that has a massive amount of information to help all of us improve safety and accuracy in our kitchen.

Who is Gleaming Edge?

Hi! I’m Aaron. I’ve lived in Chambersburg area since 1998, when my family moved here from Minot, North Dakota, eh. I’m a graduate of Cumberland Valley Christian School, where I studied tom-foolery and shenanigans.

Even as a child I had a passion for anything sharp. I received my first knife when I was 5 years old, and it came with a strict list of rules. Some rules were broken, so that knife got confiscated. Fast forward a couple years to 7 year old me. I had a new knife. Broke my dad’s rules again, so that knife got confiscated too. A few years later. Got myself a REALLY nice knife. That knife got confiscated, burned, then thrown into the swamp. Eventually I started understanding what my dad was trying to teach me 😀

Needless to say, I started sharpening at a rather young age. It was something I just seemed to have a knack for. After 25 years of sharpening, a good friend of mine helped me realize that our area needed an expert. I’m excited to serve our community and I thank you for the opportunity. -Aaron Frey
